Music is the thing I do and love the most. If all else fails, give me a mic, some instruments and a quiet room, and I’ll be perfectly happy.
I have composed music and SFX for videogames professionally for many years. I pretended on Commodore 64 Music Maker, practiced on my Tascam 424 MK2, and finally did it for real on Logic, Sonar and Pro Tools. Many pizzas were eaten along the way.
I have a band called Fine Excuses, which released its latest EP in 2015, under bizarre circumstances. Using various names I’ve also recorded 7 albums by participating in the maddeningly frantic annual FAWM challenge, taking a different methodological approach each time.
Jamming in lunatic junk ensemble Skipped and Middle-Eastern folk song quintet Nomi Basra vastly widened my music palette, and appreciation of both reclaimed Freegan food and Iraqi cuisine. We played at events as diverse as the Winchester Science Festival, Refugee Week, and Ropewalk Gardens.
